Since I retired, 2 years ago, I have had a rather varied
learning experience but not much actual success.
My interests tend to be centered on science education
in LDCs, with my most profound experiences being
with Afghanistan and Haiti. I have, but I am perhaps
being too subtle, come to the point of seeing a science
historic unity which includes both of these countries,
and the blog expressing that probably says a great
deal about who I am:
http://kanalexpap.blogspot.com I seriously doubt that meaningful building of science
capacity is going to be divided neatly into disciplinary
boxes. For climate change should meet water and
economics (agrometeorological risk), and some
combination--probably not obvious--of communications
techniques, possibly including 'sneaker net' (physical
transport of media) will best serve education. Machine
aided translation is likely also to be necessary--something
likely possible, but hard. (More on this on request.)
