Science for Humanity

Solvers

If you have joined us as a Solver, you may be interested in using your expertise to make science, technology and innovation work for poorer people in the developing world.

To help you to get involved, there are a number of options:

Discussions - Science for Humanity feels that fostering ideas and debate is the key to coming up with the best possible solutions. Joining or starting discussions on this site enables both Seekers and Solvers to discuss ideas, research, problems and potential solutions. Discussions will be closely monitored by the Science for Humanity team, who will be looking for problems which can be elevated to challenge status. Work groups will be established around challenges to promote collaboration in order to find sustainable solutions.

Members can start or contribute to discussions in the Solver area (below) by scientific discipline, in the Seeker area by humanitarian interest, or in the work groups area, where each group will have discussion threads running.

Challenges. Science for Humanity looks for problems, the solutions to which have the potential to make a sustainable difference to the lives of people in the Developing World. We do this by defining and specifying the requirements of a problem to make it a Challenge. For each Challenge a work group will be set up to facilitate collaboration between Solvers. We encourage solvers to join in any groups where they feel that their expertise could add value.

If you don’t see your scientific area here, let us know and we can add it.
